You can always delete and repost. I do it all the time. Mostly because I'm a sloppy writer and I've forgotten to include something.

+1 for editing, please. Deleting and reposting is less convenient, and you really have to remember to copy your post before you post it, otherwise you have to create it all over again.

+1 for some degree of photo albums too, please.

Don't post feature requests on posts & comments. The devs really don't like it when you post feature requests on posts & comments. Besides its all already been asked for, a thousand times before.

To all who are wondering where a certain feature is, please read our recent post "Dude, where's my feature?"

There is no disagreement about adding post editing to our feature set. A spec has been drawn up and support for editing is now in the federation protocol. Someone or a team of people needs to step forward to create the feature according to the spec and the federation protocol. If you want to encourage someone to build this feature, you could consider supporting them via Bountysource.

If you have a bit of time, please consider looking at recent #newhere posts and welcoming them, and helping/supporting them with their questions (the #help and #question tags are good ones to check as well).

@Ferdi Zebua Well if it's been asked for a thousand times then why isn't it here. EDITING should be a Basic, Fundamental, Original part of Any Forum or Social Media platform. The only reason it wouldn't be is if someone Intentionally omitted it.

It's really cool when the HQ posts anything; the interaction is wonderful.

@Kenny Chaffin I agree and why I tend to prefer Hubzilla for the long term so far. By the way Twitter doesn't have editing either.

Записи на русском обычно снабжаются тегами #lang_ru и #ru - советую использовать их тоже, а так же подписаться на них.

Иностранные тексты удобно переводить в браузере, например, в приложении Dandelion можно просто выделить фрагмент текста и в меню выбрать Translate/Перевести (должно стоять Google Translate), либо пользоваться расширениями для перевода. Конкретно в этой записи команда разработчиков Diaspora приветствует новичков. Подобные записи всегда на английском, не писать же их на всех возможных языках одновременно :)

As a new member (I joined the pluspora pod just a few weeks ago) I just wanted to say how very much I am enjoying it here.
I like the relative leanness and indeed, cleanness, of the interface.
But, more importantly, the people here seem to be intelligent, friendly, helpful and tolerant of oldies like me who are not exactly too clued up on technical issues associated with the Internet.

It would be a great asset to have 'translate' button for those languages you are not familiar with. I can read 4 languages, but have to skip when it comes to other languages. Unfortunately the Deepl API is Deepl Pro subscription only.... Any other options?

@Rob Bosch while I wouldn't mind having a good translate function I am doing pretty okay using browser functionality. On mobile I have Google Translate installed and it is matter of just selecting a piece of text and hitting "Translate" in the cut/copy/paste menu - and translation shows up in popup. Three taps without leaving the app. There are similar extensions for desktop browsers as well.

On mobile I have no Google services active. And it would mean extra work to get something translated. There are other federated services that do have the translation option available. I still think it would be great to have for diaspora* too.
